Palo Santo Soliflore. (Photos show Palo Santo tree resin, Ecuador, prior to tincture; wood in tincture prior to absolution; and finished resinoid).
This is a single note Palo Santo perfume composed exclusively from sustainably collected palo santo (Bursera graveolens) resins, woods, and essential oils. I have folded in my handmade tinctures and absolutes of the wood (Ecuador, Peru) and the tree resin (Ecuador), along with my smoke enfleurage of the wood from Ecuador. The smoke enfleurage captures the creamy scent of the wood burning as incense. The resin has an intense precious woods and floral aroma with turpentine high notes. By tincturing the resin I produced a unique resinoid for this solid perfume. I also tinctured unburned fallen wood from Ecuador and Peru for a year in high proof organic alcohol, and from those infusions I used natural open air evaporation to concentrate the extracts into absolutes. My handmade absolutes have the fixative and base note depth of the resinoid without the turpentine high pitch. To complement the smoke enfleurage, absolutes, and resinoid, I added aged essential oils from Peru and Ecuador. The essential oils lift the composition with the crystalline palo santo signature. Set in organic plant butters and very raw beeswax. Solid fragrance. Color may vary.

Wild Veil natural perfumes are composed by me, Abby, using homemade, wildcrafted and organic aromatics in Vermont. These include my handmade enfleurage, tinctures, enfleurage extraits, absolutes, resinoids and concretes, and floral waxes. I spend as much time growing plants and foraging as I do composing perfumes.

The best way to experience a natural perfume is to apply it to well-moisturized skin, without rubbing in (absorption only shortens the wear time of fragrance) and without scrubbing off. Natural perfumes are dynamic and take a minimum of 2 hours to reach their final stage, or dry down. Enjoy the alchemical changes as they unfold from the initial intensity of top notes, to the warmth of the heart, to the depth of lower base notes.
