Peach Iris ☽•☾ enfleurage perfume

Peach Iris returns in a new September 2026 edition, built around White Lady and Belle of Georgia peaches and Vermont-grown orris root from my own Iris pallida and Iris germanica.
Two white-fleshed peaches envelop the underground perfume of iris.
White Lady: pale, floral and creamy, with snowy flesh beneath softly blushing velvet skin. Belle of Georgia: lush and nectarous, deepens the peach with honeyed fruit and a rich floral sweetness.
Fresh peach materials and their transformations give this edition not simply the idea of peach, but its textures:
velvet skin · wet white flesh · nectar · stone
Against them is orris from irises grown here in Vermont.
I unearthed the rhizomes, cleaned, cut and cured them—the hidden body beneath the iris flower slowly becoming perfume. Cool, earthy and rootlike, the orris opens into violet powder, pale wood, suede and ink.
Peach Iris lives in the place where fruit becomes flower, flower becomes skin, and flower returns to root.
At the opening, peach is succulent and bright. Anatolian rose flashes electric pink through the white fruit while bergamot lifts its tartness. Osmanthus forms the bridge: apricot, peach skin, tea, flower and soft leathery warmth.
Then the orris begins to rise.
Its cool powder moves through the wet peach flesh. Jasmine sambac, tuberose, lilac and Stephanotis gather behind it—not quite a bouquet, but a floral haze around ripening fruit.
Violet and heliotrope blur the boundary further.
Juice becomes cream.
Flesh becomes powder.
As it settles, the perfume grows quieter, darker and more tactile. Peach sinks into Vermont orris, Santalum album, cedar and Haitian vetiver, warmed by musk and ambergris. Osmanthus leaves behind an apricot-colored trace of fruit, tea and suede.
What began succulent becomes powdered.
What began above ground returns to the rhizome.

Wild Veil natural perfumes are composed by me, Abby, using homemade, wildcrafted and organic aromatics in Vermont. These include my handmade enfleurage, tinctures, enfleurage extraits, absolutes, resinoids and concretes, and floral waxes. I spend as much time growing plants and foraging as I do composing perfumes.

Wild Veil oil perfumes are suspended in an odorless base of organic MCT coconut oil. As they do not contain water, liquid perfumes do not expire, and may improve with age. While the volatile top notes (the ones that hit your nose first) will fade after a year or more, the base and heart notes will deepen and grow more complex.

In solid perfumes this silky transparent base (above) mingles beautifully with the earthy, honey musk of organic beeswax. Raw beeswax traps the aroma molecules, releasing them over time for an intimate experience.

The best way to experience a natural perfume is to apply it to well-moisturized skin, without rubbing in (absorption only shortens the wear time of fragrance) and without scrubbing off. Natural perfumes are dynamic and take a minimum of 2 hours to reach their final stage, or dry down. Enjoy the alchemical changes as they unfold from the initial intensity of top notes, to the warmth of the heart, to the depth of lower base notes.
