BLACK RASPBERRY ABSOLUTE
Cured Organic Black Raspberry · Eight-Year Extraction · F/W 2026
Purple fruit. Darker skin. The shadow of raspberry.
Black raspberry is not simply a darker-colored red raspberry.
Its botanical identity is distinct, and so is the aromatic territory it invites us to explore.
Where red raspberry suggests a more translucent, floral red-fruit impression, black raspberry belongs to a deeper spectrum of purple-black fruit, concentrated sweetness, dark berry skin and the interplay of juice with seed.
The ripe fruit can evoke a convergence of raspberry and blackberry-like associations without being identical to either.
Its small drupelets and deeply pigmented exterior give it a very different sensory presence from the delicate brightness commonly associated with red raspberry.
I cured organic black raspberries before extraction, then macerated the fruit in tincture for eight years.
Only after that prolonged extraction did I evaporate the solvent, concentrating the aromatic material into absolute form.
This is an extraction of the actual cured fruit, not a black raspberry fragrance reconstructed from other aromatic ingredients.
The sensory territory is particularly interesting because black raspberry sits between recognizable berry sweetness and a darker, more saturated impression of fruit.
Purple-black flesh. Dark berry skin. The suggestion of jamminess without the need for a conventional jam accord. A more shadowed counterpart to red raspberry's brightness.
The cured fruit also introduces the possibility of a denser, less ephemeral botanical character than that of freshly crushed berries.
Within CURED FRUIT, Black Raspberry forms the middle of a three-part berry study: Red Raspberry, Black Raspberry and Mulberry.
Three fruits that may occupy neighboring regions of our olfactory imagination while remaining botanically and aromatically distinct.
Aromatic territory: Black raspberry · purple-black berry · dark fruit skin · raspberry-blackberry associations · dense fruit sweetness · seed and cured berry character.
Extraction: Cured organic Black Raspberry → eight years of tincture maceration → solvent evaporation → concentrated absolute.
Collection: CURED FRUIT · THE EIGHT-YEAR ABSOLUTES · F/W 2026.
