Wild California Buckwheat Seeds (Eriogonum fasciculatum). This wild form of buckwheat is open pollinated in the wilderness on our De Luz site. It is a favorite of our many moths and butterfly species, as well as honey bees (Apis mellifera). It is highly nutritious and its seeds can be eaten raw or used in baked goods or porridge. Their pseudocereal seeds could possibly be made into groats to produce a wild buckwheat flour, and even a wheat-free wild form of soba noodles!
