Pre-order White Sage Seeds, Wild, De Luz. Open pollinated Salvia apiana. We have thriving wild colonies on our property that I steward by direct sowing and weeding around (see photos). Plant in well-draining soil with full sun. Hardy to zone 7 outdoors but can be overwintered indoors in cooler climates. Ships end of May for spring planting.

Scent profile: our white sage is extremely unique because of the rare confluence of three soils found on our property (black volcanic, red volcanic, and decomposing granite). The result is a spectacular scent with nuances of volcanic minerality and granitic sand from the three soil types on our property, Engelmann and Southern California live oak, and the apple-turpentine scent of Laurel Sumac. There is a rich dryness that reminds me of an oil painter’s studio. Truly a marvel, with aromatic facets that echo its material facets of golden goo to green shards of botanical gemstones.
