APRICOT ABSOLUTE
Cured Organic Apricot · Eight-Year Extraction · F/W 2026
Golden flesh, drying toward amber.
Apricot has one of the most delicate and complicated aromatic identities among the stone fruits.
Its fresh character occupies a curious space between soft golden fruit, floral sweetness, tart skin and a velvety impression that seems almost tactile.
Unlike the sharper brightness of many berries, apricot can feel rounded and diffuse.
Its aroma suggests the texture of the flesh as much as the fruit's sweetness.
There is a particular tension between the ripe, nectar-like interior and the faintly acidic, sometimes green character of the skin.
When apricot is cured, that relationship changes.
Water is lost, the fruit contracts, and the balance between fresh aromatic volatiles and the more persistent constituents of the fruit shifts.
For Apricot Absolute, I cured organic apricots before extraction, then allowed them to remain in tincture for eight years.
After the prolonged maceration, I concentrated the extraction through solvent evaporation.
The aromatic territory of cured apricot is especially evocative: golden fruit pulp moving toward dried apricot, soft nectar toward concentrated flesh, delicate floral sweetness toward a denser, almost preserve-like impression.
There can be an appealing suggestion of fruit leather in the way dried apricot combines sweetness, acidity and the texture of cured skin.
Not necessarily leather in the animalic sense, but the supple, slightly tangy impression of fruit reduced to its own substance.
This is the distinction I find compelling.
A fresh apricot suggests a brief moment of ripeness.
An absolute extracted from cured fruit after eight years in tincture investigates what remains accessible when that moment has long passed.
Apricot occupies the golden center of the stone-fruit group, between dark Angelino Plum and red Bing Cherry.
Aromatic territory: Golden apricot flesh · dried apricot · soft floral fruit · nectar · tart skin · fruit-leather associations · concentrated stone-fruit sweetness.
Extraction: Cured organic Apricot → eight years of tincture maceration → solvent evaporation → concentrated absolute.
Collection: CURED FRUIT · THE EIGHT-YEAR ABSOLUTES · F/W 2026.
