FIG MILK
KADOTA + DESERT KING · FLESH I · F/W 2026
Light inside the flesh.
A lactonic liquid natural perfume built around spontaneously fermented Kadota and Desert King figs.
Two cultivars. Two expressions of fig flesh. One exaltation.
Kadota: chartreuse skin and pale, honeyed interior. Desert King: green exterior and richly colored, strawberry-pink flesh.
Together, they form the botanical body of Fig Milk.
The fig keeps its flowers inside its own flesh.
Fruit doubles as a chamber of hidden blossoms, a soft-walled interior full of flowers, seeds, sweetness, sap.
Fig Milk begins inside that chamber.
Through spontaneous fermentation, the figs developed a milky, lactonic radiance.
Fresh fig latex, translucent white pulp, ripe fruit and cultured milk, with a delicate tang throbbing through the sweetness.
No coconut milk or vanilla cream crutch to gild the lily.
The milk belongs to the figs themselves.
The pale, green-gold character of Kadota contrasts with the deeper, pink-fleshed ripeness of Desert King. Together they suggest a movement from green skin and white sap into soft fruit, seed and milk.
For all its lactonic richness, the culture retains a haloed translucence. Its milkiness does not obscure the fruit. It seems to glide over it like an opalescent orb.
I've preserved that quality in liquid form, allowing the figs to remain wet, radiant, green, ripe and alive rather than settling into an opaque gourmand accord.
Fig Milk inaugurates FLESH, the second movement of my F/W 2026 collection.
NECTARIUM opened the flower.
OSCEOLA MUSCAT WOODLAND opened the ground.
FIG MILK opens the fruit.
Hidden flower → latex → pulp → seed → cultured milk → skin.
Milk with the light still inside it.

Wild Veil natural perfumes are composed by me, Abby, using homemade, wildcrafted and organic aromatics in Vermont. These include my handmade enfleurage, tinctures, enfleurage extraits, absolutes, resinoids and concretes, and floral waxes. I spend as much time growing plants and foraging as I do composing perfumes.

The best way to experience a natural perfume is to apply it to well-moisturized skin, without rubbing in (absorption only shortens the wear time of fragrance) and without scrubbing off. Natural perfumes are dynamic and take a minimum of 2 hours to reach their final stage, or dry down. Enjoy the alchemical changes as they unfold from the initial intensity of top notes, to the warmth of the heart, to the depth of lower base notes.
